On August 14th and 15th leases for most downtown area apartments are up.That means that thousands of residents will be moving out of their old apartments and into new ones.

Donate Your Usable Goods Many renters find that they have many usable items they no longer need such as clean clothing, functional household items, small furniture, unopened nonperishable food, and kitchen items.
Instead of throwing those items out when you move, there are several places where you can donate usable items in the downtown area.
Bring your usable goods to the following location on the dates listed and they will be put to good use by St. Accepted items include: clothes, shoes, functional electronics, furniture, kitchen ware, utensils, and other household items.
No trash, televisions, sofa sleepers, computer monitors, mattresses, box springs, futons, or large appliances.(For TV and Computer recycling, scroll down) Goodwill donation stations have been set up at the following apartment buildings.The use of these apartment building donation stations are limited to residents of the respective buildings.For dates and other information, residents of these buildings should check with their property manager.Various locations around campus provided by the Open Seat pantry, including at the Donate and Take site and times listed below. Hours: The Streets Division will be emptying refuse and recycling carts in the downtown moving area everyday between Monday August 8th through Friday August 12th.One e-waste recycling sites will be set up in Lot 45 to accept electronics, working or not, including computers, monitors, TVs, phones, small appliances, and game systems, for recycling by the UW–Madison We Conserve program. Hours: For information on recycling electronics at other times through the City of Madison The University of Wisconsin We Conserve program is sponsoring a donate and take event on campus. Fill up your carts according to the guidelines below and roll them to the curb anytime this week.
